Unlocking Efficiency in Clinical Trials with EDI Standard

Damien de Chillaz

CEO

Embracing hasztag#standards is certainly the best way to bring more hasztag#interoperability and hasztag#collaboration into complex hasztag#supplychains. This is certainly the case of hasztag#clinicaltrials Supply Chains which are highly complex, global and multistakeholder in nature, with no room for error and a need for lightning speed, because “patients can’t wait”…

GS1 Healthcare is taking the lead on that ambitious Journey, in an effort to bring more hasztag#visibility and hasztag#collaboration into Vital Supply Chains by defining those industry hasztag#standards.

As a member of GS1 Healthcare, KatalX proudly embraces those standards.

3rd Edition of ‘Building Trust in Health’ Event: Fostering MedTech and BioTech Innovation

Damien de Chillaz

CEO

Thank you Pascal Marmier (孟思恺) and the Economy of Trust Foundation for hosting this powerful event, at the crossroads of #HealthTechInnovation and #DigitalTrustSolutions . The Unlimited Trust Campus was the perfect venue for this ! I was very humbled to be invited to present KatalX, in the context of the Trust Valley.

#Trust is everywhere in healthcare supply chains
> TRUST in the #Product integrity (the “Chain of Condition”)
> TRUST in the #Process ( the “Chain of Custody” and “Chain of Identity”)
> TRUST in the #Data sharing (on a “Need to Know basis”)
> TRUST in the #Analytics … AI is great, assuming that you can rely on #highfidelity data.

The issue is that “you don’t engineers trust… you earn it”.
At the end of the day it is all about a subtle combination of #Visibility and #Collaboration between people and companies, for the benefit of #patients

The stakes are very high in Healthcare.
Contrary to any other sector, the so-called “end customer”, the patient, is a suffering customer… who can only build hopes of recovery on #Trust.

This week, we hosted the 3rd edition of the multi-stakeholder event “Building Trust in Health”.

👩‍⚕️⚕ Aiming to foster an ecosystem of hasztag#MedTech and hasztag#BioTech innovators, the event brought together around 150 participants active in the sector and provided a platform for a number of startups to present their projects and expand their networks. 👨‍⚕️⚕

💡 Our Secretary General, Pascal Marmier (孟思恺), also moderated a conference debate on “How to bring the entrepreneurial spirit to the startup” between the CEO of Trust Valley, Lennig Pedron; CEO & Co-Founder of Kickstart Innovation, Katka Letzing; and Founder and Managing Partner of Seed Space Venture Capital, Dirk Steller. 💡

⚡ In recognition of the growing ecosystem of the unlimitrust campus, the program also featured resident startups from our in-house incubator, Trust Village, such as csky.ai, KimboCare, Quantum Brand Protection and uSec. ⚡

Renewed thanks to our partners for organizing the event and raising awareness of why trust is fundamental to the digital transformation of the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors.

Navigating Technology and Innovation in Supply Chain Strategy

According to Thomas Edison, “The difference between a Vision and Hallucination is Execution”…

As we are shaping the future of #sustainable #supplychains in #lifescience, leveraging the latest technologies and innovations, we make sure to be very grounded in reality. Typically based on the lessons learned from Covid-19 Vaccine distribution and its cold-chain challenges.

#PharmaLogisticsMasterclass | Highlights of #Day2 | Strategy to accommodate new technology: Embedded company leadership will carve or end the future of today’s companies

➡️ Especially in volatile markets, we have to move from KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid) to KISIS (Keeping It Simple Is Stupid).

➡️ Revolutions do not happen overnight… they incubate over years. We need to learn to identify weak signals and ‘look around the corners’. Hint: Begin seeing around the corner at the edges of your organisation, where you engage with the markets.

➡️ 3D printing technology is moving at a fast pace. However, it is still mainly relevant for niche markets as the applicability to mainstream solutions is limited. The future will tell in which direction this technology will progress, both from a cost and from applicability point of view.

➡️ Digitisation and control of the supply chain up to tier 3 suppliers are key to a complete risk assessment as 75% of the incidents happen with tier 3 suppliers. Everyone knows that risks are interconnected but academic research in this area is limited.

➡️ Proven and tested new technologies can improve logistics operations to predict, optimise and secure the pharma logistics supply chain. Applications can be in lane risk operations, CO2 calculations, cold chain management and product stability during transport, track and trace visibility,… (Big) Data-driven and inter-company applications are most suitable for a successful rollout. This is a first, yet crucial step to migrate towards an ecosystem.

➡️ The trade-off between automation versus flexibility drives digital innovation in the pharma supply chain. Factors like data availability, collaboration between the actors, data security, SOP and agreed customer visibility are key to success. Creating a digital mindset in a company is challenging and requires the entire company’s commitment.

Diane Rand’s Article: Exploring Global Supply Chains & Emerging Technologies

Great letter from professor Yossi Sheffi, on #supplychain and #technology including great insights on the 6 areas where humans surpass computers :

“1/ Since people live in the physical and social worlds, they have a much better ability to detect changes or discrepancy between what’s a normal and what’s an abnormal situation.
2/ The second area is that people have a moral code, which machines don’t necessarily have.
3/ The third is people are much better at adapting to changes in situations and coordinating processes when disruptions occur.
4/ The fourth area, I would say, is creative drive. Take the fashion industry, which seeks out novelty—new material, new design services. People are better than AI at seeking competitive advantage.
5/ The fifth area is that people have empathy—a machine cannot replace the recognized smile of the cashier in the local supermarket.
6/ And the last area where people surpass AI is assessing risk tolerance. Computers can generate action steps based on probability of risk, but they can’t factor in those social and moral considerations that can impact my decision to take a high-risk/high-reward option or a safer option. “

“How a company lets people go is a mark of its values – and values matter”…
Very strong points made by Paul Polman in this great article.
How we handle Lay-offs says a lot about Who we truly are as Leaders and as a Company. People Matter. This is also about building TRUST.
